The Himalaya Foundation was established in Taipei in 1990 as a corporate foundation. Behind the establishment of this foundation lays the desire to recognize the long history and the outstanding accomplishments of Chinese civilization. As we have entered the 21st century, talented people of Chinese ancestry emerge in every field and distinguish themselves on the international stage. Through this foundation's support of a wide range of projects in many areas, it is our hope that this generation of people will not only welcome the challenges brought by the new century, but also contribute their creative energy and the wealth of their cultural heritage to the world to create more social value and ensure that dialogue and exchange between cultures can be achieved despite cultural differences and national boundaries.
