| The Directory of Major Foundations in Taiwan |

The Himalaya Foundation has played a pioneering role in Taiwan's third sector, initiating many projects to help the nonprofit organizations grow and develop. One of our first projects was to collect and compile information regarding Taiwan foundations. Since 1992, we have published and distributed the Directory of Major Foundations in Taiwan free of charge. The year 2002 marked the tenth anniversary of our Directory, which has grown over the years to include data on 300 important foundations. The electronic version of the Directory can be viewed at www.foundations.org.tw. The 2004 version of the Directory is scheduled for publication at the end of the year. |

| NPO Stories - Making a Difference |
| |
This book, jointly published in December 2004 with the Executive Yuan National Youth Commission, presents 17 stories of Taiwan NPO workers, which testify, in a colorful and touching way, to the astounding development of Taiwan's nonprofit sector and its contribution as an important social force. The stories and portraits of individuals in this book, who hail from different backgrounds, illustrate how NPO work has transformed these people lives, as well as the lives of their families and friends. Furthermore, the stories show how a single individual, working through a NPO, can have a visible and positive impact on communities, on society and even on world.
